Top 5 Funniest TikTokers

You can’t really go anywhere these days without having someone put a phone up to your face and showing you a TikTok video that you have to see. Because of this, you’ve probably become familiar with some of the people that garner the most views on the platform. But which ones are consistently funny and worth following when you sign up for TikTok? Here are five hilarious must see personalities that will provide plenty of entertainment.

5. Parker Kit Hill

If you’ve ever thought that high fashion was a bit much, then you’ll love profiles like Parker Kit Hill. Showcasing some of the goofiest that fashion has to offer, Hill is one of the most influential TikTokers, and one of the many that got their start on Vine. Now, Hill is working with companies like Target thanks to the massive online presence and has been able to maintain that comedy gold despite the big success.

4.Christina Najjar

It can be hard to break into an already saturated market, but that’s just what Christina Najjar did during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in mid 2020. Najjar started her TikTok profile under the name Tinx and has developed a massive following of over 1.5 million. She’s a bit older than most of the popular users on TikTok even though she’s in her early 30s, but she has figured out how to play the TikTok game. Her satire and deadpan delivery are top notch and a must follow.

3. Sarah Cooper

Sarah Cooper was already funny long before she became famous on TikTok, as the Jamaican had a stand-up career and even analyzed comedy for a hobby. She first went viral with a video that showcased how to appear smart, leaving Google and going into comedy on a full-time basis. It wasn’t until 2020 that Cooper started to garner a lot of online attention for being funny, and has since turned that into a strong following on TikTok thanks to her lip syncing of former president Donald Trump.

2. Khaby Lame

If you want to be the most followed person on TikTok, you have to bring something to the table. For Khaby lame, that would be comedy, and he took Charli D’Amelio’s top spot on TikTok in June 2022. The Senegal-born Lame has become known for his videos where he questions (without saying anything) life hack videos that seem nonsensical. Lame has been able to parlay his comedy into a major brand, forming partnerships with companies like Hugo Boss along the way. In terms of the most popular TikTok videos of all-time, a good chunk of those belong to Lame.

1. Brittany Broski

Even if you didn’t know her name before, there’s almost a guarantee that you know Brittany Tomlinson, a.k.a Brittany Broski thanks to her viral meme where she tried kombucha for the first time and made a facial expression that left an impression. Brittany had already been known for her improv comedy and took off on TikTok just a couple of months after making her account. Since then, she has been all over social media and even made it into a Super Bowl ad back in February 2020.

Top 5 Funniest YouTubers

Some of us go to YouTube on a daily basis to get our news in a shorter form, listen to music or simply to laugh and be entertained. If you fall into the latter category then you probably know about some of the funniest YouTube channels. There are plenty to pick from and there’s really no way you can go wrong. However, there are a few channels that really stand out as being funny on such a consistent basis that they have us turning on the notification setting whenever they upload. Here are those YouTubers we can’t stop laughing with.

5. JonTron

While there may have been some controversy outside of his YouTube channel in recent years, the fact remains that JonTron has some of the funniest videos on the website. The former Game Grumps co-host Jon Jafari’s videos are longer in form and focus a lot on video games and movies. The production value is quite high, as well, which is why he isn’t pumping out videos left and right like many other YouTubers. The wait is worth it, though, as almost all of his videos are pure gold and the perfect amount of time to eat while watching.

4. Smosh

Founded all the way back in 2002, Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox founded Smosh and it has grown into an online media empire since then, and is now part of Mythical Entertainment. Smosh was one of the first big YouTube channels in its early days and is still churning out amazing content with Hecox still on board as one of the main members. Add in Courtney Miller, Shayne Topp and Damien Haas and you have a great dream team of comedy.

3. Kitboga

Though he’s known by most of his fans primarily as a Twitch streamer, Kitboga’s presence on YouTube is just as massive and a good way to digest his content that can run for hours with a lot of downtime while live. Kitboga baits scammers through using his digital prowess so that he’s not actually losing any money and driving these internet scammers crazy. If you aren’t laughing at the creative ways that Kitboga gets scammers to lose their minds, you might be one of those scammers.

2. Bad Lip Reading

Sports, music, political speeches, you name it, Bad Lip Reading finds a way to make it hilarious. The channel that was started back in 2011 has taken videos, silenced them and put their own audio in to make them seem like people are speaking complete gibberish most of the time. The channel has even partnered with the otherwise copyright strike happy NFL so that we get a new Super Bowl video every year.

1. videogamedunkey

If you’re a fan of dry humor and video game reviews that aren’t catering to the publishers, then videogamedunkey is the channel for you. Real name Jason Gastrow has been doing his videos for over 20 years now, dating back to his childhood, and has only gotten better with age. Gastrow does these videos all on his own and has inspired a lot of internet memes and catchphrases, especially regarding the games “Knack” and “Super Mario Bros. 2”.

Landfill Mining: The Future Of Resource Extraction?

As we continue into the future and are becoming more desperate for renewable resources, there aren’t many options left. With more focus on climate change, landfills are getting a lot of attention. Because humanity has thrown all of their trash and even toxic waste into large piles, they’re quickly adding and filling up, and it’s hurting the environment.

As of right now, landfills are the third largest cause of methane pollution in the world, and landfills are causing cancer and other ailments to people on a global scale. Could these landfills that we all know can be damaging actually be able to help us in the long run, though? Back in the 1950s, what is now known as Ariel Sharon Park in Israel experimented with what’s known as landfill mining, and it’s going to be a lot more common in the near future.

Landfill mining is rather simple to explain. Instead of continuing to add onto the top of landfills, mining seeks to shrink the mass by taking out what can be reused and isn’t toxic. Landfills are excavated and sifted through, finding valuable materials that can be used again. Some of the major targets for landfill miners are aluminum and scrap metal. To do this, there are a few different methods that are currently used.

Some landfills have a large magnet that is able to attract some of the more valuable goods before the landfill is sealed off for public safety. Others use an actual excavator to sort from the bottom to the top. When passing a landfill, you may have seen these methods being used before, but mining has gotten a lot of new attention. Surprisingly enough, this includes cryptocurrency.

Believe it or not, one energy company was able to raise millions of dollars to turn methane from landfills into a Bitcoin mining operation. This is because the methane from the landfills was instead used for turbines that generated crypto mining equipment. If cryptocurrency is able to maintain its popularity and versatility in the coming years, you can expect deals like this to become daily headlines.

Another futuristic way that landfill mining is heading toward better renewable resources is by turning some into hydrogen mines. In Oman, one project that’s estimated to be $1.4 billion is underway that is taking solid waste and converting tens of thousands of tonnes into hydrogen through a “thermo-chemical process…achieved without the use of external electricity or burning waste.”

Experts are predicting that because of landfill mining, we’ll be seeing the use of aluminum skyrocket in the near future. No other resource is easier to mine than aluminum, and our new technology is making it so that it’s also going to be the most reusable. That’s going to save a lot of money, too, with an estimated $800 million in aluminum thrown into the trash instead of properly recycled in the United States alone in just 2020.

Through the power of landfill mining, Dr. Subodh Das notes that the United States could save up to $400 million per year in aluminum alone. When you add in some of the other resources such as the valuable copper, zinc and steel, it’s easy to see why landfill mining is getting a big push as we move towards sustainable and renewable energy.

Top 5 Funniest Instagrammers

There was once a time where Instagram was really just for posting pictures from your phone and using filters to make them look more professional. Now, Instagram is a full-on social media platform where you can share memes, videos, and other forms of making people laugh to your heart’s content. Because of that, there have been many accounts that have amassed huge followings for their comedic content. Some are already famous people while others are almost completely anonymous. Here are five of the funniest Instagrammers that you should be following today.

5. GirlWithNoJob

What better way to spend that free time than posting on Instagram and hoping that you end up making enough people laugh to become famous. That’s what Claudia Oshry did, and she ended up becoming a sensation that has more than 3 million followers. Oshry has used her fame to go on tour and write books, as well.

4. John Cena

Most people know John Cena already, as he’s one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all-time, as well as an A-list actor in Hollywood known for his roles in “The Suicide Squad” and “Bumblebee”. What may come as a surprise to many is that he also runs a hilariously cryptic and vague Instagram account. Now with around 18 million followers, Cena will post almost daily with people trying to figure out meaning. “These images will be posted without explanation,” Cena explains in his bio. “For your interpretation. Enjoy.”

3. Miserable_Men

We’ve all seen those guys at the mall that are sitting on benches or next to dressing rooms waiting for their significant others. Thankfully, there’s an entire Instagram page dedicated to these men that look extremely out of place and waiting to get home as soon as possible. Miserable_Men on Instagram has featured countless men staring off into space, looking at their phones or magazines, or simply just dozing off in public. It’s an entire photo book dedicated to a male’s rite of passage.

2. Baddiewinkle

When we get old, we tend to think that we’re still going to be cool and hip, but that’s just not in the cards for a lot of us. For Helen Elam, though, she’s the coolest grandma on the planet. Going under the pseudonym baddie Winkle, Elam has been at the forefront for elderly self expression and has developed a following of more than 3.3 million people. From dressing in bikinis to even hobnobbing with celebrities like Rihanna, Elam has done it all.

1. The Fat Jewish

Getting over 10 million followers on Instagram is no easy task unless you’re already a mainstream celebrity or athlete, but Josh Ostrovsky (aka The Fat Jewish) has done just that. A plus sized model from New York City, Ostrovsky started his account back in 2011 and a couple of years later went viral thanks to his hilarious videos. We’ve seen him branch out since then and he’s had cameo appearances in movies such as “Uncut Gems” and “Zoolander 2” while still posting frequently on Instagram where he first found stardom. Needless to say, he’s one of those “OG” Instagrammers that made it big.

Top 5 Funniest Facebook Personalities

There was once a time on Facebook where we focused more on sharing memes and other hilarious posts rather than go shopping for random peoples’ items or getting into arguments over various topics. No worries, though, as there are still those pages that are designed to make us laugh on a daily basis. Some of them are names you recognize from those early days of Facebook while others are new kids on the block. For your dose of Facebook laughs, check out these five personalities on the platform.

5. Just Here To Ruin Your Day

If you like crude Photoshop works of some rather iconic or at least easily identifiable images, then Just Here to Ruin Your Day is here…to ruin your day. From gifs being rendered to make them look like they’re coming out of your computer screen to shots of Iron Man replacing his gear with henna tattoos, there’s plenty of comedy to pick from here. There’s about 320,000 followers now, and this page has been growing fast.

4. Classical Art Memes

We bet that hundreds if not thousands of years ago, people that were featured in paintings would ever think that they’d be featured in internet memes that were spread across the world. Then again, they didn’t know what memes or the internet were. Classical Art Memes on Facebook takes some art from long ago and makes it into relatable and modern memes. This includes an exasperated looking group with the caption “When a band that was huge in the early 2000s reunites and goes on tour but then they play new songs and none of the old stuff.”

3. Aunty Acid

There are some personalities on Facebook that have gotten so much attention on the platform that they were able to diverge off into other ventures. That includes Aunty Acid, who has been able to publish books with some of the musings found from the Facebook page. This pink haired character shares positive stories and jokes on a daily basis. “I’ve told everybody at my new job that I have a twin,” one post reads. “So when I bump into them in public I can just ignore them.”

2. Sarcasm Society

What do we know about the people that run the Sarcasm Society Facebook page? Well, not much, other than they make us laugh on a daily basis. There are over 3.6 million people that are following Sarcasm Society, which makes it one of the more followed comedy pages and is managed by Red Blue Media Inc. Content is frequently going viral thanks to Sarcasm Society, whether it be celebrity news or memes. Either way, you won’t be bored while browsing as new content comes in about every 15 minutes.

1. 9GAG

Though they aren’t often posting their own content, 9GAG is one of the original Facebook pages where we found curated memes that we could share. Because of this, 9GAG is the source of a lot of viral content on Facebook, and over 41.2 million people are following the page. There are a lot of different pages that fall under the 9GAG umbrella too, which includes fun facts, animals and positive messages just to name a few. In short, 9GAG is an institution on the internet at this point.

5 Fundamentals of Ageing Well

It seems that as you get older, you tend to feel your age more and more. We start to experience sore knees and backs, might have some trouble remembering small details and more. These are signs of aging, and the more of these side effects you feel at an early age, the harder things will be when you continue aging. It’s never too late (or too early) to get started on preparing your body for aging. If you want to make sure you’re living your best life into your 50s and beyond, follow these five fundamentals.

5. Avoiding Vices

When you see someone that appears to be much older than they actually are, your first thought might turn to smoking or drinking. It’s perfectly natural to think this way as these vices have shown to have negative effects in the aging process. This is especially true for your skin when it comes to smoking and your organs overall from either vice. Blood vessels contract when smoking or drinking, causing an aged appearance and can even make it so that your skin doesn’t heal properly.

4. Healthy Skin

Of course, smoking and drinking severely affects your skin, but those aren’t the only things you need to be doing to keep your skin healthy as you age. When you’re out in the sun, always make sure to use caution and bring along sunscreen. Skin cancer is among the most common, and while it’s also among the most treatable, you don’t want to roll the dice. Moisturizing your skin is also vital, especially if you want to look younger and healthier.

3. Active Brain

Among the most obvious signs of aging is the brain’s function and how it can be easier to forget things or lose focus. Because of this, you want to make brain health a priority by eating foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids and cutting out saturated fats. Also, make sure that your brain is stimulated on a daily basis. This can include fun activities such as crosswords, sudoku and more to keep you sharp as a tack.

2. Whole Foods

There is a lot of processed food in the average person’s diet these days because it’s easier to pick up and eat. However, you should be focusing on whole foods and a well rounded diet to maintain your overall health as you age. Foods such as bananas, beans, carrots, cherries and more will help get you all the fiber, protein, and other nutrients that your body needs. Try skipping the fried foods and beer whenever possible, too.

1. Regular Exercise

One of the most obvious signs of aging is when you start to feel aches and pains on a consistent basis. You might also start to lose your mobility. This is why it’s important to spend as much of your life as you can getting regular exercise. Light exercise like walking 7,000 to 10,000 steps per day is great for your muscles and will reduce your skeletal aging. For those that want something lower in impact, light swimming will do the trick while getting you a full body exercise and boosting cardio.

5 Fundamentals Of Dressing For Your Age

Picture in your head quickly what you think the average 25 year old man dresses like, then picture a 60 year old woman. These two are wearing completely different outfits in your mind, aren’t they? There’s a certain stereotype that our brain’s develop when it comes to how people should dress at a certain age and gender. That stereotype, however, seems to be fading with every generation. Now, there isn’t a set rule in terms of how you should dress at any given age, but there are still some fundamentals to follow if you want to look your best. Here are those key fundamentals to keep in mind.

5. Button Down All The Time

No matter what age you are, a button up shirt is always going to be in style. How you wear the shirt, though, can really differ depending on your age. If you’re on the younger side and are going for a more casual look, keep the button down untucked. If you’re older and more mature (and in a business setting), you’ll want to keep it tucked. Needless to say, your closet should have plenty of button down shirts as they’re versatile for any occasion.

4. Tears Are For Kids

Remember when you were in high school or college and a lot of your shirts and pants had rips, tears or were acid washed because it was the ‘in’ style? Some of these clothes have even come pre-ripped for convenience. Once you hit adulthood (or at least finish college), it’s time to retire those types of clothes, unfortunately. Sure, some celebrities that are trying to appear youthful can pull it off a little bit, but if you’re in your 50s, it just doesn’t look right. You can still dress in a way that makes you look younger without the tears.

3. Once Your Old Enough, Go Wild

People hit a certain age where there’s not really a focus on fashion, but there should be. In terms of how people perceive your fashion choices, the older you are, the more wild you can get with what you’re wearing. Instead of relegating yourself to suspenders and other articles of clothing that are stereotyped toward the older crowd, start experimenting with what makes you stand out. Just look at Iris Apfel, a centenarian who was an interior designer for the White House. “You have to dress for yourself before you dress for your age,” she said.

2. Easy on the Makeup

When you’re younger, you can tend to wear a lot of makeup and it can be tempting to keep wearing more as you get older to cover up signs of aging. However, it looks more natural to go lighter on the makeup when you age. Some fashion experts have said that older people who wear too much makeup look like they’re still kids that got into their mother’s makeup collection and started experimenting.

1. Know How to Accessorize

There are certain fashion accessories that simply work better depending on your age. Younger adults will want to focus more on accessories that include real gems and gold, while older people can pull off larger pieces of jewelry that might not even be real. Hats are another big thing, as they can make you look much older depending on the size, so you want to find the right fit for your style.

5 Beginner Woodwork Project Ideas

Woodworking is something that will never go away, as wood is one of the most versatile materials that you can find on this planet. While its popularity waned at one point, there has been a resurgence in woodworking interest (thanks in part, oddly enough, to NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation”). If you’re one of these people that wants to get into woodworking for the first time, you don’t want to start on something big like a house or even a complicated table. Instead, you’ll want to focus on smaller projects to help get you started. Here are five woodworking project ideas that beginners will enjoy.

5. Shoe Organizer

The beauty of making a shoe organizer is that there aren’t a lot of intricate parts that you need to be a professional to get right. Instead, you just need a few pieces of wood, some screws and you can sand and varnish from there. This is perhaps the most popular beginner project in woodworking as you don’t have to cut anything. SImply get a couple of 2×4’s and a couple of 2×10’s and you’re in business. You can use it for more than just shoes, too, and paint to your heart’s content.

4. Simple Bench

You don’t have to learn how to get a wood bench situated into a metal frame to have a place to sit. You also don’t have to spend hundreds to make a bench. Instead, think of a bench the same way you would a shoe organizer. Of course, the wood that you’ll be using is much sturdier since it has to support people. Sand it down so that you’re not getting any splinters on your hindquarters.

3. Coffee Table

In almost the exact same fashion that you’re making a bench, that can also be used as a coffee table. Where a bench will have a narrower top end, the coffee table will be a bit wider so that you can set various items on there and decorations. Also like benches, this is a project that doesn’t take a lot of money if you already have the tools. It should be able to be completed in one afternoon, making it an ideal beginner’s project.

2. Magazine Storage

Perhaps you want a project that requires smaller parts if you have limited space. If that’s the case, you may want to try making a magazine storage rack that can also be used for folders or other important documents that you want to keep nicely organized. While this is a little more advanced due to more cutting, the fact that it’s a smaller project is a good introduction to cutting with some pretty low stakes overall.

1. Photo Frames

We end on a project that most people make for their introduction into woodworking, and that’s the picture frame. This is one of the most popular projects because you can put your own artistic spin on things, and there’s no ‘wrong’ way to do a picture frame as long as it hangs without falling apart and you can see the picture that you’re displaying. There’s a lot of sentimental value behind this project, and you see a lot of them being made in home economics classes around the country. Except this time, you won’t be using popsicle sticks, but rather cutting your own wood to make it truly yours.

5 Weather Changes We’re Likely To See Due To Climate Change

Climate change is something that more people are becoming aware of on a daily basis, and has become a divisive topic on a political scale. A majority of Americans feel that the government is not doing enough to combat climate change, with around three quarters saying that it’s very much real and will negatively impact the future of the world. No matter what side of the aisle you’re on, it’s hard to ignore the natural disasters that have been happening recently. Things will only escalate in the near future, too, with these changes being more frequent in coming years.

5. Hurricanes

As the atmosphere continues to warm up, we will not only see a slight rise in the amount of hurricanes, but they will also become more intense. We’re seeing more category 4 and 5 hurricanes in recent years, as these storms are able to hold more water vapor. This creates rainfall that’s damaging and wind that can knock down structures. Of the 10 years in which there were the most hurricanes (a statistic that’s been tracked since 1851), six of those years have happened since 2003.

4. Drought

While hurricanes are producing more rain, those that are not getting hit by hurricanes are suffering through a complete lack of precipitation due to climate change. When we get warmer temperatures, evaporation is at its highest and leads to surface water becoming dried out. We’re also seeing lakes and rivers start to lose their water levels, and it’s causing a global crisis. Precipitation overall is down in many areas, and it’s killing crops and water supplies.

3. Increased Flooding

You might think to yourself that drought on a global scale couldn’t possibly lead to flooding, but climate change does affect those that live near certain bodies of water. Think of areas like Louisiana that have been hit hard with hurricanes and experienced flooding. You’ll start to see that more in coastal areas as the ice caps continue to melt, causing water levels to rise and flooding to increase. Flash floods are also becoming more common due to the water vapors we discussed earlier.

2. Heatwaves

It’s only natural that if the global temperature is increasing, it’s going to bring a lot of heatwaves. Just take the European heatwave of 2022 for example, where many were not prepared due to lack of air conditioning and sadly lost their lives. Looking at the average global temperature, it has consistently been on the rise. There have only been two years since 2012 where the average global temperature was below 55 degrees fahrenheit, compare to an average of about 50 degrees a century ago.

1. Wildfires

Over the past few years, some of the biggest news headlines came because of wildfires that were happening in the United States and Australia. It’s something that we’ll see more of as the temperatures rise and the ground becomes more dry. Scientists say that we’re on the doorstep of a wildfire crisis on a global scale, with estimates saying there will be an increase of more than 50 percent in less than a century. It’s scary to think about, but areas that are more humid now might be at risk in 100 years.

5 Things You Need To Know Before You Choose A Medical School

Out of all of the college programs that are available, medical school is the most selective for prospective students. Only around 23,000 people are accepted into medical schools each year, forming the future physicians of the United States. There are plenty more that hope to get in, and you may be one of them. If you find yourself hoping to get into medical school, there are some things to consider. Here are five things you need to know before choosing a medical school.

5. The School’s Graduation Rate

One of the first things that you want to look at is the graduation for all of the medical schools that you’re considering. In terms of overall graduation rate in the United States, around 83 percent of medical school students go on to graduate their program. If you want something that will allow you to get through school at a standard difficulty, aim for 83 percent or higher. Going lower than 80 percent will really challenge you to the point where you may drop out. With that said, you have to think in terms of how much you want it overall.

4. The Admission Standards

Now that you know how difficult it will be to finish your schooling, we have to consider how hard it’s going to be just to get accepted. Some medical schools have such a low admission rate that it’s not worth going through the expensive and time consuming process just to get a quick rejection. Some of the hardest medical schools in the United States include Virginia Tech, New York University, Texas Christian University, Stanford and Kaiser Permanente. That’s because all of these schools have an acceptance rate of less than two percent. The University of Tennessee is much more favorable at nearly 16 percent.

3. Support From Staff

Not all medical schools are the same and expect you to learn everything on your own time and have staff that are hard to get a hold of if you need support or have questions. That’s why you want to focus on schools with programs that offer generous office hours, career services and more. When you’re a medical student, you’re likely to be focused on studying around the clock so when you run into stressful situations, you want to know that you’ll have the pillars of support that you need.

2. Alumni Base

When you’re looking at any college, you want to look at the alumni base that the school has produced, and that’s true for any program of study. Sure, some schools might produce a lot of alumni, but are they producing notable alumni? Look at schools with a rich history of producing the world’s best physicians. Just a few doctors to think about and the schools they went to include William Abdu (Dartmouth/Tufts), Myles Abbott (Miami) and Fouad Abbas (University of Maryland).

1. The Cost

Of course, you’ll want to know if you can even afford going to medical school. Medical school is often the most expensive program for any college, and unless you are extremely lucky, you’re going to find yourself in a lot of debt. Try to match yourself with a school that’s affordable enough to make payments until you really get your career launched and start earning the big bucks to pay off those loans.
